We had, what we at Star Ranch call a deck crawl scheduled for Saturday evening. This is an event in which we travel from one deck to another for a mixed drink and an appetizer. Great socializing, great friends and great booze. Mother nature decided to turn cold and wet. Our planning staff called an audible and simply moved the event inside our club house and moved the event to a 1:00PM start time. Thank goodness we have ample facilities for such occurrences.
I have often said if you go home hungry at Star Ranch you didn’t show up. Saturday night was typical. Hamburger sliders, hot dogs, Tomales, k-bobs, lemon bars and chocolate cake.
On the mixed drink side of things we had Old Fashions, Rum Punch, Twisted Tea, Sparkling Punch and Yellow Fins.
The food and drink are merely an excuse to socialize with our Star Ranch family. Saturday night was no different. Sandi and I sat with a couple on visit two to Star Ranch. The first visit occurred 25 years ago. It has been a while since we have seen such a spread in visits. Typically, if we don’t see them in a year or so, we may not be their cup of tea. In this folks case, they were busy raising children. They are active nudists who vacation often at Hidden Beach in Mexico and other resorts in Germany. We were glad to see them make it back. They assured us it will not take 25 years to come back a third time.
The other couple we sat with were on date three. Their second visit to Star Ranch. Date one was not with us; they waited for date two and three. They met online after the grandkids filled out grandma’s profile and signed her up on a dating app. Grandma forgot to turn off the family feature on her phone and as such the family now knows she has been to a nude resort. They are not the first couple to be outed by the family tracking feature.
Next week is Karaoke with KJ Mark. You really have not sung Karaoke until you sing naked at Star Ranch with our first class sound system. This is not a garage set up. Mixing board, amp, professional speakers. The ladies sing together calling themselves the Starlets. It is nothing short of amazing.
Stop beating yourself up over what society thinks you are supposed to look like and come enjoy a group who will accept you for who you are. The easiest way to improve your self-worth? Take your clothes off in a safe, secure and protected setting.

Life at Star Ranch

I am often asked:  what is it like to spend time at Star Ranch.  Sadly, most of the outside world assumes that because we are naked we engage in casual sex.  Nothing could be further from the truth and in fact such behavior will get you removed from Star Ranch.

At Star Ranch, we host two 5K races per year.  One in the Spring and one in the fall.  We bring in a couple hundred runners who compete for medals based on their time.  We have digital scoring utilizing transponders on each runner.  Awards are earned based on age group.  This past Saturday was our spring race.  We set records for the top overall male and female finishers.  The weather was perfect for running and our guests took advantage of the conditions.

To an outsider, it may sound rather dull:  a small business trying to host a fund raiser by allowing folks to run through their property.  In reality, it is much more involved than that.  Parking, medical, flagging, water stations, cooks, entertainment, maintenance, registration and course preparation are all duties that must be assigned to team members.  My assignment is the finish line.  We have water, Gatorade and fruit for the runners as they finish.

A long term Star Resident met a man at last years Spring race.  They were married a month ago.  A father and daughter make their way down from Dallas each Spring and Fall to attend our races.  They consider their time at Star Ranch to be good bonding.  A couple comes down from MO for each race.

My wife and I were entertaining on our deck after the race and awards cermony.  The final four basketball games were on and we happened to be watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Unbeknownst to us, a first time visitor happened to be walking past our place when he realized we were watching Iowa.  He approached us and asked if he could join.  The answer was absolutely.  Introductions were made as our guest settled in with a drink to watch his team.  He was from Des Moines Iowa and had made the trip down for our spring 5K race which took place Saturday morning.

Here we had a first time visitor at Star Ranch who felt comfortable enough to approach strangers and ask if he could join our gathering.  Tell me how many times that happens in everyday life.

Nudist are, in my judgement, the friendliest folks you will meet.  If you are looking for people that look in the eye, ask questions and listen to the answers or people who just may become close friends give nudism a shot.  My wife and I consider it life changing.  You just may find that you agree.
